With Valentine's Day around the corner, I wanted to make something special for my daycare moms. In the past I've made them cute little candy filled mason jars with their child's handprints or footprints on them. I love making little treasures that become forever keepsakes, so this Valentine's Day I decided to create a DIY Valentine's Day Tile for each child that can be displayed each Valentine's Day.
I wanted to make this an inexpensive project to make so I looked around my house and gathered some miscellaneous craft items, such as maribou, tulle, embellishments, crystals, ribbon and more. In addition, you will need tiles, Mod Podge (I used glitter Mod Podge, which I love but may have ended up being too much glitter), and a paintbrush.
The first step to these adorable DIY Valentine's Day Tiles, is to take a cute picture of the child. I then printed the pictures on regular printer paper along with their names or something cute. Once your pictures are printed, cut them out so they fit nicely onto the tile.
After this is done, you will spread Mod Podge on the back of the pictures, place them on the tile, and then spread Mod Podge all over the top of the tile and over the pictures as well. Allow the tile to dry completely before you glue the remaining embellishments on it.
After the tiles are dry, I hot glued a variety of embellishments that I had laying around the house. On some tiles, I glued ribbon, heart table scatters, and maribou. It was fun to get creative with each tile.
This Valentine's Day keepsake was simple to make and inexpensive. I love how each Valentine's Day tile turned out and how unique each one was.
