Oval Library Table Makeover

Hi there, Hometalk Friends! I thought ya'll might enjoy the makeover of this pretty library table I scored for $20 at a yard sale last Summer. It came complete with a hot mess of a paint job. I try to avoid painted pieces when looking for a piece of furniture to rehab because they are simply more work. I had to bring this beauty home though. Here she is before:
And here she is after removing some of the old paint and painting the bottom portion with a fresh new creamy color...
So much better!
I usually paint most furniture pieces, but this beautiful wood was just too pretty to cover up.
It didn't have a knob before, so I added this one that I removed from a cabinet:
I also lined the drawer with this pretty script paper:
