Builder Grade to Coastal Cottage Bathroom in 6 Weeks!

Last fall I took part in the One Room Challenge...a challenge to redo a room in your house in just 6 weeks. The challenge is hosted by Linda at Calling It Home blog. Never did I expect to create the bathroom of my dreams in just 6 weeks.
I started with a really boring builder grade bathroom that was beige, beige, beige. I knew I wanted something Coastal but I didn't want it to scream coastal at me. So I decided to create a bathroom using my favorite elements: high contrast, texture, and lots of detail.
I recycled some Ikea shelves that were hanging in the garage and pulled in coastal interest through the accessories. I have always wanted a chandelier over my bathtub but do to the height of my ceiling, it was a no no in this bathroom so I settled for the next best thing.
Did you catch a glimpse of the ceiling? Can you believe it is wallpaper? I know, right? It looks so real. I pinch myself every time I walk in my bathroom and partake of the amazing ceiling. Just between you and me, that bead board is wallpaper too (shhhh...don't tell anyone else).
I go gaga over anything high contrast and right now I'm just a little more than obsessed with dark hardware on white mixed with wood. Hello gorgeous. Throw in a Turkish towel and I'm done. I love the contrast so much that I actually spray painted my shower. It's true. It was crazy. You'll have to click on through to see that one. In fact, you can see the whole six week journey to my coastal bathroom.
