Can I paint ceramic floor tiles?

My tiles are in great condition, just an ugly color.

    Hi Agatha. I have heard of people doing it, but have not done it myself. Have you searched Hometalk for Painting Ceramic Tile yet? I chimed in to learn something myself as I'm going to attempt this myself.

    You can but on a floor even with proper prep it's not going to hold up long

      I did the wall, shower, and floor tile in my master bath. I used the acid prep method recommended by the tile paint manufacturer. The walls and the shower walls held up great. However the floors did not. As it was in the master bath it did not get a huge amount of traffic. That said in just under 6 months the floor started showing wear, the shower for started in under 4.
