Funky Necklace Heart Wreath

Truth be told I don't do a lot of crafting or decorating for Valentine's Day, but I do love to make a new wreath every year.
Mostly because I love hearts
I found this wreath frame a few days ago at the thrift store for $1.
When I took it home and put in on my mess of a desk an idea came to me as I was sitting there looking at some of my vintage and costume jewelry necklace stash which I use in wind chime projects.

And I thought why not make a necklace heart wreath. Sounded pretty easy to me.
I randomly grabbed necklaces and just started wrapping them around the frame.
Each necklace attached to the next one's clasp, and I just kept wrapping.....
and wrapping...
and wrapping...
and wrapping... until it was done.

Then I played with the placement of the necklaces a bit to cover the wreath form as best I could.
Then I simply hung it on the barn board and chicken wire frame in the master bedroom.
I totally winged it with this wreath by just using what I had in my stash, and because of that I think it turned out pretty funky.

I didn't worry about matching the necklaces. I just went for it without thinking about it, and I'm pretty happy with the end result. I love that when Valentine's Day is done I can take this wreath apart and the necklaces are no worse for wear.

This is a fun way for me to store these necklaces until I need to use one of them. Then I'll just unclasp that one and replace it with another one. My wreath can be ever changing.
