Looking for a good painter in Rockdale county

Michelle M on Feb 12, 2012We have been pulling wallpaper off our bathroom walls for the last 2 days. It's been up there for 20 years and no matter what we used most of it came off in little pieces. We are doing the painting ourselves but we got a estimate from Carl's Honey Do Services 770-788-0850 I think he lives in Covington. We had him do a few things around the house and really liked him.Helpful Reply

Peace Painting Co., Inc. on Feb 12, 2012Bill, many times we will charge by the hour for removing wallpaper because of all the unknowns. Perhaps you can do some work yourselves. Here is a post that was on some easier paper removal. Maybe you can use some of the ideas. http://www.hometalk.com/activity/133617 Best, CharlesHelpful Reply

HandyANDY - Handyman & All Repairs, LLC on Feb 13, 2012As Peace notes, wallpaper removal can be russian roulette so most companies bid by the hour. HandyANDY does it by the job. We'd be happy to give you pricing. The pricing Michelle has is a little on the high side....but most contractors don't want to tackle wallpaper removal...it's just not fun work. I'm doing one in Alpharetta right now...it's a 2-room hall bath...the sink area is 5'x8' and the bath is 4'x5'. Removing the wallpaper in both areas was $400 and priming walls & repainting walls, ceiling and trim was $250 with client supplying the paint. Hope that helps! We will post some pics when we are done with itHelpful Reply

Dan's of Central Florida, Inc. on Feb 13, 2012I also try to price the removal of wallpaper by the hour for the same reasons mentioned above. If the client insists that the price be by-the-job then I have to inflate my price to cover the potential time sink it may take. Like Peace said, if you can remove some/most/all the wallpaper yourself, that will help you in the cost of redoing the bathroom.Helpful Reply
