Can we use old wine boxes for container gardening?

Will the wood rot? I am thinking of laying 4 or 6 of these boxes together, fill them with soil and grow a veggie in each. Is this good idea?

Line them with plastic or better yet find square planters that will slip down inside them. I just left Ole Tyme Pottery. They should have something that will work.

I've built some great garden beds out of plastic (trex type) decking. Some home centers have odd lots that can be had cheap...being plastic they are rot resistant. Raised beds offer longer growing seasons as the tend to warm up quicker in the spring

They will most likely not rot for a few years. If you keep them like they are, they will weather and look good.

i think they would eventually rot outside. i've used them to stand pots of plants in but haven't left them outside permanently.
