DIY Draft Stoppers

I live in the Midwest, and it has been a cold, snowy winter! We didn't get all the home-maintenance done that we wanted to this fall, like replacing the weather stripping on our doors. We have one room in particular that has several doors, and is always the coldest room in the house.
I was tired of all the warm air going out, and cold air coming in under the doors, so I brainstormed a solution.
I took a cheap, fleece blanket and cut it to size, and then sewed 3 sides together. You do NOT have to be an expert seamstress to pull off this easy project!
I filled them with rice. I purchased a bulk, 25 pound bag of rice at our local warehouse club for only $6! This was more than enough rice to make draft stoppers for every door in my house.
I actually like the way they look, and this room is now noticeably warmer! Head over to my blog for measurements and specific instructions!

We've been using these all winter and haven't experienced that at all. They are cheap and easy enough to make, if they seem off next winter I will whip up some new ones!

Would pool noodles work for this? I'd still like to wrap them in pretty fabric.
