Decorative Tray From a Wooden Toy Box

I'm a big fan of Melissa and Doug toys, and recently added to my son's collection at Christmas.
One of the perks of buying fun, high-quality wooden toys, is that they often come in fun, high-quality wooden boxes. These boxes are always begging for an upcycle, am I right?
Using a little bit of wood stain and some chalk paint, I was able to transform this simple wooden toy box into a fun, decorative wooden tray for my home.
I stained the tray with a combo of "golden oak" and "classic gray" stain, and then used a template to paint on some words.
This was such an easy upcycle craft project! Head on over to the blog for the full tutorial.
