A Furlicious Boudoir Chair!

This boring little dated barrel back chair got a makeover with metallic gold paint and some of Santa’s fur … shhhhhh! Don’t tell him ;) !
I was wanting a chair to go in Aliah’s newly madeover room. She and I were going back and forth about her having one in there. I wanted her to have a chair but she didn’t want more furniture in her room.
I thought that maybe she couldn’t envision what I had in mind for the chair and that’s why she really didn’t want one. So … I proceeded with the chair makeover with hopes of convincing her that this would be lovely in her room.
I dismantled the chair completely down to it’s bare bones and painted it with gold metallic paint followed by some dark antiquing wax to tone it down a bit and give it a hint of aged patina. (BTW: only the top half is waxed in these photos as I ran out of dark wax and haven’t had a chance to get more yet … sorry!)

I picked up some white Santa’s fur from the fabric store that I managed to score for 50% off. Turns out the fabric store was having a “50% off anything white” sale! Yeay me! It was my lucky day!

I have to say that this was the absolute easiest upholstering job ever using fur as the staples are instantly hidden and I didn’t need to use trim.

If only every upholstering project were this easy! I might get more done ;)
Turns out Aliah still doesn’t want a chair in her room so it looks as though this little furlicious chair is going to go to market in the spring!

It certainly makes for a beautiful accent in her room though … :(
There is just one pressing question I have with regards to this chair .... Please click on the link below to find out what it is and if you can help leave me a message on the blog!

I hope you have a great day!

Smiles!
