Family Room Refresh #NewYearNewRoomChallenge

Our family room is the heart of our home. So, I wanted to refresh and liven the room to start the New Year fresh! Instead of doing this task alone, I challenged a group of my blogging friends to refresh a room of their own.
My family room is now full of color, yet is balanced by maintaining the same color story. Blues with accents in orange and yellow make this family room lively, unlike the previous look of the room.
The room had a series of poorly sized furnishings and an inconsistent color scheme. Which, is expected since I hardly put any work into this room.
The mantel was updated with new artwork from Minted as well as a mix of fresh and faux florals. Globes are making their way into our home too!
I also updated the gallery wall with new art prints from Minted. The abstract art ties in all the colors of the room, while the blue medallion plays off the new blue rug and chinoiserie pieces.
The pillows were changed out to a more colorful and complimentary pattern.
We moved the old coffee table set and replaced it with the table set we had in our formal living room. This marble top table set looks more to scale now that the rug has been updated to a beautiful blue patterned rug by RugsUSA.
I still have a few more things to finish up in the room such as the cabinet, fireplace, and desk but I think it's so much better now! I welcome you to see more photos of this room and to check out the 11 other rooms refreshed over the course of 3 weeks!
