Updated - Help with a magazine/vinyl record rack

Hello! This is an update on the question I posted a while back regarding how to update a magazine rack I found at the Goodwill.
One of the ideas posted was to use Chalk Paint to give it an updated look and to be honest, I was very hesitant. I haven't done a lot of DIY so I was intimidated by the chalk paint everyone's blogs raved about. So, I read and watched videos, and read and watched more videos and finally told myself to just go for it.
I was surprised by how easy it is to use and feel kinda silly now for being so reluctant to try it. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Greek Blue and Annie Sloan Clear Wax to finish. I thought to be ambitious and put white on the front but I don't have a steady enough hand and after an attempt which only made things worse, I covered the whole thing in the Greek Blue.

Do you like the effect of chalk paint in which it seems that is the way many people are painting?

That thing screams Morocco! Google Moroccan inspired colors and decor in "images". I would paint it in bright jewel tones, and use a product called "rub-n-buff" in gold - put a dab on the end of your finger and rub it around the inside edges of the cutouts, and maybe lightly on all the corners of the piece. Put potted flowers or plants inside. It would make a lovely, colorful planter.

If the edges are level you could paint or stain it and add a glass top for use as a side table. If the front and back edges are not level it would be a neat place to store throw blankets or towels

I would do 2 different colors on the front - one for the raised slats and one for the flat slats. If you want the same color, you can use one gloss and one flat. That would be a 'gentle" way to ease into DIY!

this looks to be quite tall ...table height?not quite? I would paint it all white ,antique it and maybe add a flip door on top or line it with fabric and make a flap from material and turn it into a laundry hamper ...great find I love it!!!

I would repaint it and use it maybe as one of the following: toy crib, planter, craft paper/ tray/ cookie sheet storage, yarn/ fp log/ umbrella/ hat and mitten/ kid's book or homework holder.
