Using Mod Podge on metal

Has anyone had experience using Mod Podge on metal? I saw a really cute metal watering can in Target's ad for $17.00. Although not that costly, no need for me to purchase it as I have a plain white metal watering can. I would like to try covering it with either fabric, scrapbook paper or wrapping paper. I have never used Mod Podge on metal, not sure it would work. Also appreciate any other suggestions!

You could pick up some spray adhesive, and hit the back of your paper items. Then you can just stick them on to the metal can. Allow to dry for a bit and then you could top coat with a clear finish. Deft spray lacquer dries really fast and would be my first choice.
