A Key Part of the Outdoorsman’s Arsenal

Wet & Forget
by Wet & Forget
Summer is almost approaching, and you’re ready to hit the trails and do some serious camping. You’ve got your mosquito spray, your sleeping bag and your best backpack, but you might be bringing some unwelcome guests along on your trip: algae, mold and mildew. If your gear suffers from these ugly, smelly menaces, don’t spend a fortune to replace it–let Wet & Forget clean your gear for you and save your money for fishing lures and ingredients for s’mores!
RV

An RV is an excellent way to bring the comforts of home to the great outdoors, but humidity and shade can create a welcome environment for mold, mildew and algae on your RV’s outdoor surfaces. To clean these streaks or spots from your RV’s sides, roof or roll-out awning, fill a pump-up garden sprayer with 1 part Wet & Forget and 5 parts water. Thoroughly saturate the affected area, and let Wet & Forget do the rest of the work for you.

Note: If your RV has a rubber roof, cleaners or conditioners that contain citric acid, harsh solvents or petroleum-based solvents can cause the rubber to break down and leak. Wet & Forget’s gentle, pH-neutral formula is safe for all of your RV’s outer surfaces, from metal to fiberglass, rubber, vinyl or acrylic. We recommend that you protect your RV’s outer decals from overspray by covering them before you apply Wet & Forget.
Pop-Up Camper

The tops, sides and canvas ends of your pop-up camper can also fall prey to mold, mildew or algae. Give the affected area a good soaking with a solution of 1 part Wet & Forget to 5 parts water, and keep the camper popped up until the staining disappears.
Cabin

That cozy cabin in the woods is an excellent place to kick back and relax, but moisture and shade can leave the outside of the walls and roof vulnerable to moss, mold, mildew, algae or lichen. To get rid of the problem, first mix a solution of 1 part Wet & Forget to 5 parts water. For mold, mildew or algae, saturate the area well and let Wet & Forget take care of the rest. For moss, be sure to give the area an extra-thorough soaking so that the entire thickness of the moss is completely saturated. For lichen, saturate the area with the diluted Wet & Forget, wait 15 minutes for the solution to dry, and then saturate the area a second time. This allows Wet & Forget to penetrate the lichen’s multiple layers.

Hammocks/Outdoor Furniture

Your RV’s portable furniture, as well as the fold-up chairs for around the campfire, can fall victim to algae, mold or mildew. Camping hammocks, a comfortable and popular sleeping option, and their awnings can develop the same pesky growths. Spray the fabric with a solution of 5 parts water and 1 part Wet & Forget to kill algae, mold or mildew. Once the furniture has completely dried, simply hose it down with water before using it again.

For all surfaces, make sure that Wet & Forget will have 4 to 5 hours to dry completely before a chance of rain.

Happy camping!
