I have a ton, a lot of old lipsticks. Does anyone have an idea of what I can use them for? They are very dry now. They taste dry also.

If they taste off and are old, you should probably toss them.

Wonder if you could glue them to a canvas and melt them. Kind of like the crayon art. Might be kind of cute in the bathroom.

i keep some in my shop to help mark places on my wood working for proper placement of screws and bolts. It saves a lot of trial and error measuring.

I would just throw them away - if they are old and dried out you certainly don't want to use them!

If you use alcohol paints, you could use these to make your own alcohol paint!!! Quite thrifty and the various hues you could create would be endless.

If there is any moisture left use them for blush. I place a larger dab on my cheek and two or three successivly smaller dabs as I go up then blend in. Works like a charm.

@Sandra Allen I've done this, too! Sold Avon and had many samples when I quit.

Here in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, we have a "charity" called the Princess Project...they dress matriculants who are unable to afford nice dresses for the their matric dances. I give all my old make-up and high-heel shoes to them when I de-clutter. Maybe you have a similar thing in your area.

Just chiming in again to caution you on donating or using expired cosmetics. They are a breeding ground for bacteria. Please don't give them to someone else. You should never share cosmetics.

@MN Mom Definitely true - never share used cosmetics. If you make candles, maybe they could be melted down for coloring? I have no idea.

Interesting concept using them for Alcohol paints. I might have to try that myself and see how it goes.

Hi! Since you have a lot of them, I have an idea I have been waiting to do myself. You buy a basic not expensive mirror with a flat wooden frame. Maybe the size to fit on your bedroom door. What you do is glue your old lipsticks onto the flat frame all the way around the mirror. Then hang on your bedroom door. I have a mirror that I want to do this with but I am waiting for enough lipsticks to do this craft. Hope this inspires you or gives you an add on idea. :).

Woops back again. You can still use the lipsticks inside to try your alcohol inks ideas as well.
