DIY Wood Speckled Robins Eggs

Fun DIY tutorial to paint your own speckled robins eggs, just in time for Easter and Spring!

This is a fun project to let the kids help with using items that are easy to find at any craft store.

Begin by painting unfinished wooden eggs blue.

Let them dry completely.

Then, put the eggs in a box, and pounce your paint brushes into a bit of brown craft paint.
Now the fun begins! Just splatter away by running your fingers over the bristles, going towards you. This assures that (most of) the paint goes away from you.

Let that side dry, and turn the eggs over.
Repeat the process until the whole egg is covered lightly and evenly in brown speckles.

When that's dry, repeat the same process with white craft paint.

The variety in the size of the speckles gives each egg the most unique look.

Get the kids involved, and these pretty eggs will be ready for display in just a few hours (drying takes the longest).

Use your little robins eggs for display in an Easter or Spring themed centerpiece.
However, they're adorable enough that you could display them all year round in a farmhouse or shabby chic styled space.

Lovely job. Congratulations on these beautiful eggs. I just love this color you used, would you please give me the color name? Thank you in advance. Leslie

Unless my eyes deceive me, I think I can see white/off white paint splatters on the eggs along with the brown? What color of brown was used?
