DIY Glass Pendant Light (Knockoff Project)

After a light fixture I swooned over sold out, I decided to DIY... and it's now one of my favorite projects to date! Thanks to the parties for giving me the motivation I needed to finish. If you don't actually count the special glass bit I had to buy (which I of course intend on using again), the total cost was actually only $34!
THE SCENARIO: I found this AMAZING light fixture online, and had my credit card ready to go. There was just one little problem: the light was SOLD OUT! I waited to see if it would become available again, but it became clear that if I wanted something similar, DIY might be my only option.
It took a while to track all of the elements down, but I was able to save a good amount of cash by getting a little resourceful (see the post link below for all of the source details and tips about where to find each part).
The key to this project was definitely having the right tools and memorizing how to put the light kit back together. The pendant light used determined a lot about what size bits I needed, etc. Click the link to see how the light looks in my kitchen, plus details on how to put the piece together with ease!
This was the old gumball light. But now that the room is freshly painted and a new light fixture installed, the renovations continue! For more info on the kitchen makeover as a whole, check out http://bit.ly/UDHKitchenReno
