I use colorful pots and assorted plants to disguise any eyesores on my property.

If you can plant something that drapes like a vine it could cascade down the blocks. You can also plant pots and train the plants upward on a trellis

Good ideas. I first though a fake stone glued on it may work. We are moving into this home next week.

We've got a small cinder block wall in our backyard...we planted ivy geraniums - one of my faves! They drape down over the blocks, come in all sorts of beautiful colors, and are very easy to care for!

Paint it first, just to get rid of the base color. (I would suggest something like a dark terra cotta will push it back and make it disappear) Then if you like you can put a lattice piece over top (cheap at Home Depot/Lowes)I would stain or paint it first, (in a lighter color than the back concrete)and put trim around the lattice piece to make it look 'finished'. It can be nailed right into the concrete block with a few concrete nails. Then use planters etc.. on top and bottom. A nice urn piece in the center would make it a showcase rather than the eyesore it is now. If you have an electric outlet, you may want to consider a wall fountain. They have so many now available at very reasonable cost. Or even a small filtered pond fountain to add plants and fish in front, depending on the space. You could do the entire project in a weekend. $50-$300+ depending on the extras.

I'd start with a concrete stain that is to your liking.
