How To Decorate Easter Eggs

We loved decorating Easter eggs as kids. We still do! We don't use the fizzy tablets we bought in kits anymore, though. We figured out how to make our own Easter egg dyes using food coloring! And we decorate them with crayons! (
This is a really fun and easy way to dye eggs and you probably have everything you need already in your kitchen!
To make the dye, we mix food coloring with vinegar. We love using food coloring because we can create new colors by mixing two together. Get our recipe for Easter Egg dye at http://runningwithsisters.com/how-to-dye-and-decorate-easter-eggs/.
This is yet another great DIY for your bottle cap collection, too. Use them to dry your Easter eggs on!
Set each dyed egg on a bottle cap! They fit perfectly and the bottle cap doesn't leave any marks on your egg.
To decorate the eggs, we like to draw on them with good old crayons! Then we dye them in a second color.
When you remove the crayon, the color underneath shows through. Like magic! To see all the steps, including how we removed the crayon, check out the complete how-to on our blog http://runningwithsisters.com/how-to-dye-and-decorate-easter-eggs/
We'd love to hear how you like to decorate eggs. Got any great tips? Please share them and leave a comment!

Happy Easter,

What is the best way to get hard water stains off where faucet goes into granite in a bathroom? My son will not clean this off in his bath and I have not found a solution yet. Thanks for any suggestions!

I like the tip of using bottle caps as egg stands. I now use the plastic ones and they work very well.

Thanks, Jill! We'll have to try it with plastic ones. We have lots of those in the recycle bin just waiting for a job!
