Any ideas on uses or crafts for baseball caps?

Cleaning out closets and drawers and finding way too many hats. Hats from jobs, promotions, places visited, funny sayings, etc. I've seen ideas for ties and clothing, but not the baseball type and other hats. Any ideas?

This is a really good question. I used to have many and have given them away. Are you willing to "destroy" them or are you set on keeping them in tact? Maybe you could try taking one apart at the seams and see what kind of shapes you get and maybe it will give you some inspiration.

I don't wear baseball caps, when I do get them as a gift or as promo things I pass them on to goodwill and places like that. I do know some folks "collect" hats so there is a small market on ebay and such.

Never thought about it until now but I am the mother of 4 boys and my husband is a baseball cap lover so we are never in short supply of caps. I bet if you cut the brims off and layered them you could get an interesting valance for a window. Now that I'm thinking about it I might just have to try that since my 10 year old just told me he wanted to redo his room with a baseball theme. I'm thinking I could use the front panels with the team logos as art in there too.

St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis is a good place to send caps as the kids are going through chemo and losing their hair.

If you took them apart at the seems, I bet you could peice them together for a quilt top. Or at least part of one. Maybe a throw pillow.

I send mine to a hopital also. The kids love them.

Take a spring tension curtain rod, thread them through the opening in the back (if they have one as some don't) and make a cute valance for a window. I too am cursed w/a hubby that loves hats. Can't throw them all out, and I love the idea of donating them to a cancer hospital.
