DIY Three Tiered Stand : #diymyspring

It is always fun getting together with other creative bloggers on projects. This time, we are sharing our creations. My project started out with these scraps from our garage.
I love tiered stands, but they are usually a lot more money than I want to spend. So, for this spring project, I decided to make my own.
We made different sized boxes out of thin plywood and a board we had in the garage.
To put the stand together, we used a wood spindle and some dowel screws. We cut the spindle in two spots. That gave us the right amount of space between each tier.
I painted the entire piece and left the wood spindle the way it was. I liked the mix of the two colors.
After the paint dried, I distressed the 3 Tiered Stand with some sandpaper. Then, I had a lot of fun decorating it!
It will be perfect this spring for all kinds of things! This piece will be great for all year round and I have already added new things to it. Make sure to check out my blog post for the details on how we put the stand together and find out the color I used on the stand.

I'm interested to know about the floral cups and saucers: are they vintage? They look like some dishes my mother had (sadly almost all pieces have been broken). Have always wondered what the pattern name is, who made them, etc. Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
