Repurposing tin cans for child to put crayons, hair accesories, or something else, in decoupage technique with napkins.
First we paint the cans in base color (white). The paint should be acrylic water based. It dries fast and it's safe for children.
We choose the napkin motif. And we also need scizors, decoupage glue (mod podge), cans and plastic foil we usually use for folders in office.
When surface we painted in white is dried, we put a thin layer of glue with brush.
Then we put on a napkin and press it over the plastic foil. Press slowly, not to tear the napkin, and be careful that everything is smooth, not wrinkled.
After we glued the whole napkin, we put another layer of decoupage glue with brush, again carefuly.
When the tin cans are dried, maybe there are some extra parts of the napkin peek over the edges. we can sand them or cut with scizors, after that we go over with brush again.
We can decorate the cans with ribbons, wool strings, beads, pearls and so on.
You can keep anything you imagine in there. My daughter loves it!
