Whiskey Barrel Plant Stand

I've had a whiskey barrel top laying around since last summer. I knew I had to purchase it at the time and inspiration would come to me sooner than later. Well, it did! I'm combined this beautiful piece with some lovely hairpin legs for the perfectly rustic/modern plant stand. A big thanks to Hometalk for hosting the DIY My Spring Blog Hop!
Isn't it cool? I love the stamp and letters. I gave it a good scrub because it was quite dirty.

After it dried, I placed some glue between the cracks and clamped it together.

This helped for sure, however, the ends weren't too stable!
We cut a piece of wood to put between the barrel top and legs for more support, perfect!

It turned out pretty cute! I love the rustic feel but modern touch from the legs! It's also one of a kind!

What a very clever idea and the round of wood underneath provides additional stability for the lid.,if you put taller legs, could be used by a chair to hold a drink. Did you seal the wood at all? Or just oil it to prevent further splitting?
