Rainbow Yarn Hanging

My daughter collects sticks, rainbows, and unicorns. She has a favorite stick that has been sitting in the corner, waiting for the perfect project. We're slowly making over her bedroom into a rainbow unicorn paradise, and I finally had the thought to use her stick for a Rainbow Yarn Hanging.
This project is super simple, but a bit time consuming. However, it's easy to get into a rhythm with it and the end result is completely worth it. All I needed was a stick (obviously any kind of rod would do, as well), yarn in rainbow colors, and scissors.
The stick was pretty big and I wanted this to be a bit oversized, so I cut each bit of yarn into roughly 4' lengths. I then folded each length in half with the loop at the back of the stick, pulled the cut ends through, and tightened.
I basically kept going until I had the rainbow. I used about 30 lengths of each color.
I tied a length of white yarn on either side of the rainbow and hung it up over her bed. I finished by trimming the ends to make it a bit cleaner. I need new scissors and as soon as I get some, I'll go back in and clean it up a bit more.
My daughter is super happy with her Rainbow Yarn Hanging and her smile was worth all of the looping and cutting.
