DIY Painting Floors - Easy and Rewarding

We moved into a fixer upper that had some 1970's plaid glued down carpet in the kitchen area and I couldn't wait to get rid of it. The problem is there was a long list of things that needed to be done first so we found a solution that wasn't hard, was fun to creat and looks great. Find out how we removed the glued down carpet and used paint to creat a one of a kind masterpiece.
The first step was to get rid of the glued down carpet. Pulling up the carpet was easy but it left behind the decaying padding. With a floor scraper and sander we got the floor ready for the next phase.
Because there is wall demolition a bit further down the "to do" list we had to find a solution that was inexpensive, simple to do and looked good enough for company until we are ready to take down that wall. I'm a firm believer that paint can fix just about anything as long as you do the research and get the tools you need. I'm very excited how the project turned out and not at all sure I will ever cover it up with anything else! Read the full tutorial on the blog.

How durable has it been? Will it last through a lot of grandkids traffic?
