Coffee Stain set into a dress shirt??

Mary Insana on May 13, 2013Try a spray product called Awesome. I find it at the Dollar store and I think its also sold at Walmart, Lowes or Home Depot. I use it for my husband ring around the collar. You should spray it and let it sit a while then wash it. You could rinse the shirt out my hand just in that area and if its still not gone do it again. You can also try fresh lemon juice on the stain and sit it in the sun then wash. You have nothing to lose at this point. Good Luck.Helpful Reply

Jeannine Maranchuk on May 14, 2013Hopefully it hasn't gone through the dryer. You may want to try WD-40. Spray the spot, wash & hang to dry. Repeat until the stain is gone. Works with motor oil (saved my stepdaughters jeans & pj bottoms). The trick is to not let it go through the dryer, but sometimes it works. Hope this helps.Helpful Reply

Sia@South 47th on May 16, 2013Hi Jim! Well unfortunately it's been dry cleaned twice. You're chances of getting it out are 1. Slim and 2. None. But wait, there's hope~You can make enough coffee to put into an cheap plastic tub, like the Dollar store sells. Then throw your shirt in, mash it down until it's thoroughly covered and saturated. It must stay under the coffee bath. You'll need to lift it out and put it back in, to make sure it's evenly covered. When it gets to the "Stain" color, remove, rinse and dry. Now you have a nice NEW shirt! Just not a white one. ;)Helpful Reply

Cheryl Arledge on May 19, 2013I have found that rubbing stains with a bar of Fels Naptha brown soap with get most stains out. It works better than all those expensive "stain removal" sprays. You might also try pouring hydrogen peroxide on the stain. It will NOT bleach out colors but get stains such as blood out. Not sure about coffee, but it may be worth a try.Helpful Reply

Sia@South 47th on May 20, 2013@Jim G Try Trader Joe's. OR if you know someone that makes soap, have them give you a small slice of regular unscented, PLAIN. xoHelpful Reply

Sia@South 47th on May 20, 2013Your welcome! Just don't use it on your skin, it's like detergent. I only use handmade soap (that I've made) for cleansing the body. That way I know exactly what's in it. ;)Helpful Reply
