Lincluden Cottage: Maids Bathroom Remodel

Lincluden Cottage
by Lincluden Cottage
We do not have a maid, but most homes built in 1859 did! The steep maids stairs from the kitchen take you up to the modest maids quarters. This section of the house with smaller sized rooms and closets along with lower ceiling gives you the sense of class hierarchy and how the house was built to reflect it.
The vanity was custom built and travertine slab was installed on top. Bead board frames the room adding detail and giving the bathroom a vintage look.
Golden raw silk compliments the travertine counter top.
Early stages.
A small shower with travertine tiles built.
A custom vintage brass bumble bee knob and floral cabinet pulls were the inspiration for the bathroom colour choice and overall theme.
Finally, reclaimed brick floor inspired by the original deep red door knob gives the bathroom a unique and interesting look.

How do you take care of the brick floor? I just bought a house with this type and I love it but no clue on how to take care of it.
