Chalkboard Coat Rack

One of my friends and fellow bloggers sent me some cool leather coasters as part of a style challenge. I just had to take the coasters and use, or style, them any way I wanted. Since I love a great challenge I accepted and was excited when I received them in the mail. I knew exactly what to do with them the minute I saw them...they needed to be part of a coat rack!
When I went out to my shed to find a scrap piece of wood to make a coat rack I spotted this left over piece of chalk board I had from when I made my DIY Chalkboard easel made from picture frames, http://www.mylove2create.com/2015/06/diy-chalkboard-easel-picture-frames.html and decided that I had to include it in my design. It was the perfect size, so why not!?!
Using some scrap wood pieces (basically 1x2's) I started making a frame for the chalkboard using pocket holes.
I attached everything together with wood glue, pocket hole screws and added some 1/4'' thick scraps for a support for the chalkboard to sit on.

I love Chalkboards, http://www.mylove2create.com/2014/12/i-love-chalkboards.html and I just can't seem to get enough of them I think it was a perfect touch for the coat rack!

It turned out so awesome and I my boys are excited to have it in their room!
