DIY Glass Cloche

One day, I was cleaning out my china cabinet and found some odds and ends I wasn't using. An old plate, an old vase...an idea popped in my head and next thing I knew, I was gathering a couple other things from my craft stash and heading outside with my spray paint!
I took the plate, and a lid to one of those jar candles outside and sprayed them with some oil rubbed bronze spray paint...
...I wrapped some jute in a knot and hot glued it to the candle jar lid once it was dry, then hot glued that to bottom of the vase.
I sat the upside down vase on the spray painted plate and I was thrilled that my wacky idea actually WORKED! This little DIY Glass Cloche has been a great addition to our family room with a little faux plant underneath.
And I can switch it out for the seasons, which is always fun.
Plus...you just can't beat a FREE craft! ;)

I like your idea! I've always felt funny throwing out those glass tops to the candles (and even the glass candle holder) because it just seemed there should be a use for them!
