5 Simple Ideas to Display Your Beach Agate Collection

Hunting for Washington State beach agates is not only fun but something anyone can do. After years of hunting for these beauts, I now have quite the collection.
I began to wonder what else I could do with the agates besides empty them into a jar.
I have 5 different ways to show-off your agate collection--two of which come from other agate hunters.
On an unusually warm February day I took the opportunity to get some TLC at one of my favorite places...the beach. Now it looks like I may be prego in this picture but that's just my coat thrown over my arm.

The beach not only offers therapy but it also offers treasures. My husband was the first to introduce me to the idea of agate hunting. Points were given for the most agates, the largest agates, and the prettiest.

I don't beat him in too many games. But this one...I'm pretty sure I'm winning.

After years of collecting them and storing them in jars, I began to wonder what else could I do with these beautiful stones.
Black agate shines in sun
These were my winnings on that day (blue beach glass thrown in too! No points for that though.). The black one looks like a rock. But if you turn it just right to the sun, you see the agate. They are really hard to find.
1. Add your agates in an old Ball 1/2 gallon blue jar. Then create a display with other items. The dominoes have sentimental value as these were the ones my father-in-law used to play with his buddies.
2. Create wall art. Select your favorite agates and arrange to your liking in a shadow box picture frame. I used hot glue to attach the agates.
3. Display your agate collection in the base of a table lamp.

4. Lance only displays the translucent beach agates he found on beaches south of Port Orford in his southside windows. The light really highlights the color of the agates. https://www.flickr.com/photos/81918828@N00/354563214/

5. Teresa creates a prize within a prize display. I love the beauty of the shell with just a hint of the agates showing themselves. Would be nice on the windowsill next to your other bottled agate display or in a beach theme decor bedroom or bathroom. http://teresakasner.blogspot.com/2012/04/rainy-beachy-birthday.html
