Motorcycle Side Mirror Repurpose

My Three C's
by My Three C's
Hi I'm April of My Three C's! Recently I shared a DIY video on how I took Plastic Easter Eggs and dolled them up using decorative paper napkins. Since I had all my supplies out, I decided to shoot another DIY video on a great way to repurpose an item I have seen passed up at flea markets, and garage sales! Motorcycle Side Mirrors! With pretty spring floral napkins I am able to repurpose these bland forgotten items into feminine Mothers Day/Birthday gifts. Use these great gems as makeup mirrors or up cycle them into chic picture frames! Taking some forgotten junk and making it shabby chic treasure has never been easier!
Here is a glam picture of the finished product but to see the whole DIY video visit the link below to see this and other DIYs on my YouTube channel. Below is a list of items you will need to create these beautiful gifts.

What you need...

Decorative Napkins

Sweet Pickins Milk Paint, Top Coat

Motorcycle or Scooter Side Mirror

Spray Paint

Painters Tape

Art Brush

Scissors

(price noted on project is an estimate and may be less if you have some of these items in your stash of craft supplies)
First thing I did was spray paint my mirror with a light color spray paint. Once dry, it was time to decoupage pretty flowers on the back of the mirror with flowers cut out of the decorative layer of a 3 ply napkin.
I used Sweet Pickins Top coat to adhere the flowers on the mirror by putting a thin layer of Top Coat on the back of the mirror, laying out the cut outs, then putting some more Top Coat over the napkin flowers to seal.
Here is the finished product but to get a better idea on how this project was done, please click on the YouTube video below!
Here is the link to my YouTube Video Tutorial on creating these cute gifts! Wouldn't it be fun to try other paper napkin prints or create this for grandma with the help of the grandkids? ;) You could even make these seasonal with the use of Christmas or Valentines or Birthday tissue or napkins!

Enjoy,
