I have a garden and plan to use this idea. How can I write on the surface?

I also use old blinds when making the perfect edges while painting windows, doors and base boards.

What a good idea, and when you buy new blinds and shorten them to reduce the slats you don't need, there is an abundance or if you go to thrift stores, there are always old blinds for sale cheap.
