A Table for Spring

Country Chic Paint

Andrea from Crossroad Creations is joining us for her very first Country Chic Paint blog post today! Come see how she refurbished this sweet little side table with Rustic Charm and natural and antiquing wax.
We found this side table at a local flea market and were drawn to the simple lines of the piece, but knew it needed a facelift!

Preparation for this piece could not have been easier! The base of the table only required a light sanding to provide good adhesion for the paint. The top was sanded completely in order to remove the original dark stain. It was then sealed for durability, leaving the natural beauty of the wood to shine.
We chose Country Chic Paint’s Furniture and Home Décor paint in Rustic Charm for the base of the table. It is a beautiful shade of green that reminded us of spring and would complement the natural top beautifully. The paint applied smoothly and only required two coats for complete coverage.
To seal the paint we used the Natural Wax which is very easy to apply with the small wax brush. It deepened the tone of the paint and gave the piece a soft glow. We then applied the Antiquing Wax over the Natural Wax while it was still soft, and used a lint free cloth to wipe away the excess until we reached our desired effect. We did not want to darken the colour too much, but wanted to give the paint some extra dimension.
We could not be happier with the outcome and all of the products were easy to use and of high quality. This end table is the perfect piece for spring, inspired by nature!
