Indoor Closet Playhouse Number 1!
We've built two indoor closet playhouses in the past few years! I've already posted the playhouse in our new (old) house and I thought I'd post the first one we did. It's a completely different design because the closet was smaller! If you're worried about creating a problem when you sell your house: When we moved we simply took apart the facade and removed the inside elements of the playhouse...put back the closet doors and put up a hanging rod. Waa Laa! Back to a normal closet!
We took a smallish closet in our granddaughter's bedroom and made it into a darling little playhouse!
We used paneling and plywood to build a facade where the closet doors were...
A cedar shingle roof and a bit of gingerbread trim added to the cute factor!
I drew this dutch door and The Husband made it...I was going for cottage but the girls called it a barn door and pretended the playhouse had farm animals inside!
We did a little built in stove and shelves inside the closet space!
The playhouse was a big hit with our tiny girls!
