Porch Refresh- Acid Stained Concrete

Hello everyone!When we built our home I was on our back porch staining the wood ceiling planks and clumsy me spilled a new can of wood stain on our BRAND new concrete!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️So 3 years later I am finally fixing my mess up. We have tried using all sorts of concrete cleaning products, but have had no luck!Inside of our home we did acid stained concrete downstairs, so we decided to do the same process on the porch. I honestly wasn’t sure how this would turn out on aged concrete, but I love it 😻!It may seem a little overwhelming since there are several steps to this process, but it’s actually very easy!You can click here to see a short video of each step!WARNING⚠️ Acid staining process will vary depending on your concrete finish, age of the concrete, and build up! I recently found this rug for $5 (at 5 below) & knew I had the perfect place for it…and you can probably already tell it wasn’t going on the ground! Patio Door on a Rail

We live in a townhouse. The grounds of our townhouse association are very beautiful and very well-maintained. When the weather is nice, there is a lot of traffic outside: people walking by, with dogs, with kids... to the shopping mall, from the shopping mall... employees from nearby business offices on lunch break... Right next to our patio and the room that I use as my office. I did not want to use blinds or curtains on the patio door (I do not like either). Instead, I bought a a piece of wall décor, a large carved wood panel, at TJ Maxx. It had a small scratch and was on sale for $50.

Give Your Gazebo a Custom Look

I added a privacy wall/ T.V. to our gazebo by framing up one side of the gazebo and adding pine tongue and groove to the inside. Not only does it create privacy but it's the perfect place for mounting a t.v. , hiding the not so pretty part of our backyard behind it, and blocking the strong winds we get....and it gives the gazebo a cozy feel.Although there are many other ways we could've done this wall, we did it this way for our home, weather and purpose. And we love it. It's getting a ton of compliments already and it's the best place for watching the game...WIN!!!!Note: we used left over 2x4 for framing the wall (from a previous project). But, you could definitely use 2x3 which would be cheaper and yet still suitable.

Easy Window Transformation

Ya’ll! I didn’t think some black spray paint could make a girl so happy, but man! I LOVE the way my windows look now!! All it took was some tape and a can of black spray paint! Taping is the worst part because I’m so impatient and just want to get going to the fun stuff - just me? All of the prep work is worth it in the end but I always want to rush through it so that I can move on to the real part of the project!
