I've used wire basket from the Dollar store turning upside down, and use cleaver ideas on top of the basket and bottom of basket., and use this for hanging earrings.

A friend of mine took a birch tree branch and cut it to fit between the floor and wall - almost wedged in if you can picture that and simply hung her jewelry from the branches. It is stunning!

Expanding on the old window, use the 3-M easy to remove hooks in varying size and paint to match the wall. They won't show, but the jewelry will. You could use multiple windows and create separate categories

I made some from some wood scraps that I sanded the edges on. I stuck some flat head nails in them and used eyelets to string some wire across the top. I hung them on either side of the mirror in my bathroom and its right there there when I am getting ready. I can hang necklaces and bracelets on the nails and they will not slip off because of the large head. Hook earrings hang on the wires at the top. I had $0 into this because I had all the stuff and they took me about 20 min to build.

My grandfather was very handy and skilled, and he made me one of those coffee mug holders that sit on the counter. I have that in my room and hang necklaces from the arms. My ex's grandmother gave us a beautiful candy jar that is on a pedestal and has a lid. I have that sitting out and have all of my bracelets in it. Be creative and look for things you can repurpose!
