Skirting a Mobile Home

Les and Gina
by Les and Gina
For about a week now Les and I have been skirting a few trailers in our park so I thought I would take some pictures and share with you the proper way of skirting a mobile home.
1st we ripped 2x6 in half drilled holes in them that bigger around the the 12" long rebar we used to stink in the hole. we want the board to move as the heaves up and down.
Than we trench out next to the boards about 3-4" deep. Most animals will only dig down a couple of inches before giving up and mice, raccoons, and cats can do a lot of damage to the belly of a trailer and mice like to chew on electrical wires once they get into the belly so bury the skirting 3-4 " into the ground will keep the critters out.
Use a level to keep your skirting nice and plumb.
Sometimes you have to make adjustments to the skirting like if you have a slab of concrete or a big tree trunk so you'll need a pair of tin snips to make those kind of cuts.
but for straight cut a saw with metal cutting blade that we got Menards for 6.00
Having help from your friends or family is great THANK YOU BETH!!!
I hope you found this helpful and please visit use on or facebook page and like us if you like what we are doing to some of these older trailers. Thanks for looking.
