Staining a Deck + Lattice

Our backyard is a constant work-in-progress. We have a LOT of shade, a large dog and pesky moles that like to negate any yard-work we manage to get done every year. In 2014, we decided to focus our efforts on our back deck instead!
The deck is nice in size with a built-in bench but it was a little weathered. When we first bought the house in 2009, we powerwashed that bad boy and applied a water/weather-proofing "stain". It wasn't tinted but the wood looked newer once it had been washed so we went with it.
The job was easy and BRUTAL at the same time! I'm kind of cheap when it comes to DIY and don't like to spend unnecessary money so we painted the deck with a few measly paintbrushes.
All in all, it took two days, two coats and eleven hours of staining! It was rough! BUT! It's been two years now and the deck still looks pretty decent so I'd say it was worth it!
