Check Out My Lil' Blue Chest!

My lil' chest has had 3 lives... It started out Ivory with yellow lines on it. After awhile, I grew tired of it so I spray painted it matte black and then I liked it better.
This is the only picture of it's life as a black chest, but it served me well for several years. THEN... I became discontent with it as I saw all the fantastic examples of what was being done on Hometalk.
I then spray painted it deep blue. I began resurfacing the top with torn, wadded brown paper bag scraps.
I have figured out, I can fix just about anything with either hot glue, WD-40 or Mod Podge. The surface is drying now and I recoated the top with another coat of Mod Podge. Let it dry for a day and then sand it smooth. I left the gaps in the paper on top so the color shows through. It looked like old leather when finished. A few coats of clear satin finish polyurethane finishes it nicely. Thank heaven for Mod Podge!
The pictures are from a clip arts program and I typed in that I wanted art pictures of Venice. I found 3 and printed them on my computer using matte finish photo paper. I Mod Podged them to the front. The blue shapes are little wooden plaques from JoAnn's Fabrics, spray painted blue. The original pulls were reattached and then I polyurethaned the pictures for protection.
The sideway picture shows the completed chest. When I loaded the one above, only 2 drawers showed. Now, I'm going to enjoy my 'Lil' Blue Chest' for several more years.
