Kitchen floor - can I lay linoleum tiles over the original linoleum?

3po3 on Mar 29, 2012I think it depends on your new vinyl and the state of the original linoleum. Look at the instructions and information with the tiles you are buying.Helpful Reply

HandyANDY - Handyman & All Repairs, LLC on Mar 30, 2012You can do it but it always best to strip the old flooring out and get back to a clean slate. The self stick tiles will get you a year or so depending on traffic and water. We usually only do this when we are flipping a house....looks good to get it sold on a budget but not as long term solutionHelpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Mar 31, 2012You might want to look at a "floating" vinyl product like the traffic master Allure. this product sticks to itself and is very DIY friendly. by not sticking to your existing floor when the time comes to get a real more durable floor like tile..the demo will be much easier. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100594661/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=allure+planks+flooring&storeId=10051Helpful Reply
