1940's Drum Table Recycle

by Connie Ely
My husband and I found this 1940's drum table at a local thrift store and knew it could be brought back to life! With the leather top I knew it would be beautiful when we were done with it. We sanded the wood trim on top and stained the entire top including the leather with mahogany gel stain and poly for protection. The bottom was painted with sheepskin chalk paint and I gave it a clear wax and finished it with antique wax. Hardware is original.
The before of the 1940's drum table
It was a tired and worn piece of furniture!
With the top completed I was able to move on to the painting!
Sheepskin/cream chalk paint and clear wax completed!
And the finished product! Absolutely loved the way it turned out!
