From your state cooperative extension folks, here is way more information than you probably need about persimmons, but if you skip to page 10, there is good info about fertilization: http://polkhort.ifas.ufl.edu/documents/publications/persimmons%20in%20florida.pdf And speaking of cooperative extension, I would go through your local cooperative extension office and get a soil test. They typically have a space on the form to tell them what you are growing. They will tell you what is lacking in your soil, and what needs to be added.
