DIY Map Mural Wall + Upgraded IKEA Sideboard

How to create beautiful, show-stopping mural in your house - all you need is a projector and a little patience! You can see all of the details by clicking here!
I started off by using a projector to project an image of a world map on the wall. Play around with your settings and the distance of the projector from the wall until you get the right size and the image is level.
Once your image is projected, use a thin paintbrush to trace the outlines of your image - it doesn't have to be completely perfect, this project is more forgiving than you'd think!

After you've painted the outline, you can go back in with a slightly thicker brush and fill the image in.

Add a gorgeous statement piece to highlight your pretty accent wall! I took this plain brown IKEA bookcase and painted it bright yellow....

...added some numbers to the doors with a contrasting finish of paint (it's the exact same color, but in eggshell instead of gloss)...
This project is a really easy way to make a large-scale mural in your house that will make a huge impact on any room! It's very simple, easy to complete, and creates a beautiful vignette. See more details and photos on the full blog post!

And switched up the knobs for something with a little more whimsy and fun!
