can I move verbena at this time of year? It is planted near Nandena and growing very fast. Will it overpower the Nandena

Do you know what type of verbena you have, Gayle?It's hard to imagine one overpowering a nandina, but you can certainly cut it back significantly.

Don't know. Low to the ground and spreading all over. Beautiful purple. I thought since the Nandina looked shrubby the Verbena may be choking it out. I'd like to move it.

It is probably 'Homestead Purple' and I doubt you will hurt it by moving it. You might want to cut it back to a manageable size before you do so, and make sure to keep it well-watered after you do .
