A client, totally in love with Harry Potter, asked me to produce a dresser for her son's room. She needed a lot of storage for him and I had this 9 drawer dresser in my hands!
After a lot of back and forth we decided to go with the Hogwarts House colours. I made this image in photoshop and she loved it.
After a good clean and prep, off to my brushes I went. I used General Finishes Lamp Black milk paint. I love their products.
I was keen to match the house colours as well as I could so took screen shots to my local Home depot and poured through their colour swatches. I think I found a good match and had little sample pots made in the colours
I used a copper artists acrylic paint for the stripes and the H
I traced the H onto the drawers using the old school method of chalk on the back and traced through it with a soft pencil.
And here is is with the legs added. Happily living in a little boys bedroom!
