Has anyone found a product that will brighten up your laminate floors? I clean them with vingear and a microfiber rag.

Best product for wood or laminate is "Bona Kimi", now sold at Home Depot.

You have to realize the "cause" of these floors not being "bright". In most cases the dullness is due to minor abrasion that has reduced the "shine" of the acrylic top coat. ( imagine rubbing some shinny surface with sand paper) once these scratches are there they will reduce the shine and harbor dirt which exacerbates the condition. Unlike a real hardwood floor laminates can NOT be refinished of resurfaced. Some folks have used some products that supposedly "restore" a floor but these are a stop gap measure at best. If it were my home I would rip it out and install real hardwood or tile...this depends on what area of the home it is. Tile for kitchens, baths, laundry etc...any place that could see water...Hardwood for living or bedrooms.

Thanks for the info on the laminate floors. I would love to replace the laminate however, it is not in the budget right now. I am going to try the Bona Kimi and suggested by Pasty W. I appreciate all of your input!

I see this is an old post, but I'm sure thankful it's still on the site. We are still putting down laminate flooring, and the manufacturer's info says not to clean with water, soap, oil-soap, oil and so on. So what the heck? I asked friends on FB, and vinegar came up in most posts, as it has on HomeTalk. I've been afraid to clean the floors (we have dogs tracking in mud from snow melting, etc...), so I got brave a used a formula a friend suggested. 4 parts water to 1 part vinegar in a spray bottle. I didn't have money for any additional supplies, so I used an old Swiffer Floor Duster and cut up a large micofiber cloth. It was big enough to make two cleaning cloths. I just tried it, and it works GREAT!

I recently heard over a German television shoe that one can use fabric softener diluted in water and to use this on the mop!!

As far as your question is concerned,in my opinion,it is important to clean laminate flooring on a regular basis. You can use a vacuum or dust mop. Unlike hardwood flooring, laminate flooring has a protective thick external resin coat, which means that a hard bristle brush or beater bar won’t damage the finish. Avoid waxing or polishing the floors and steer clear of harsh chemicals and cleaners.Nice posting.

I use Windex window cleaner great on it and I found that the X5 H2o mops are the best for a clean result finish I have laminate all over my home and so far that's what works and my mum also owns a small cleaning business and that's the best way window cleaners are just great for everything bit more expensive than other product's but it works.
