Squirrels & apple trees
how do we keep squirrels from eating our apples before we can?

Spray soapy water on them (try mild shampoo with a lot of fragrance). Also, buy a squirrel feeder and keep it stocked with cheap nuts and dried fruits from dollar store (trail mix, etc.). Put the feeder away from the trees so that they prefer to eat somewhere else.

If your trees aren't too big, one option may be tenting them with netting.
