DIY Painted Canvas Drop Cloth Chair

2 Materials
I recently joined a No Sew Challenge with a $20 limit and decided to flip this dining chair that I had bought at a yard sale last summer. I knew I had to keep the cost of supplies down, so instead of using upholstery fabric, which would be durable enough for everyday use but very expensive, I decided to dress up a canvas drop cloth.
The whole chair needed a makeover, so after a failed stain attempt, I decided to paint it.
Then it was time to focus on the seat. As you can see, the original was dirty, cracked and brittle.
I had never painted fabric before, so I researched the web to learn what I could. After some trial-and-error, and a little frustration, I finally got the look I wanted with chalk paint.
Here it is put back together again. I love the brighter look and the character a new seat adds to the chair.
