Every Home Needs Curb Appeal!

After building our chicken coop I decided every home needs curb appeal!
The chicken coop before a little landscaping
I dug up all the grass and added fresh garden soil. Planted some bulbs - to bloom later
A little mulch, white rock and some blue aquarium rocks to make a river, a little bridge, bistro set and shells to make a river area
I glued moss to a pot and added a door in the front, planted some cactus to each side
Brought the rock over to the area to the left of the Whirling butterfly bush and added a fairy house, more aquarium rock, some mini chickens "drinking" the cool water :-)
The Lazy A Hens now have a landscaped yard
Added some stepping stones for a walkway to the door, a blue butterfly bush and mulch and added log landscape brick to "block" the area in and one new home has been landscaped.

Suggested materials:

  • Mulch, marble rock, stepping stones, landscaping bricks  (Ace Hardware)
  • Chicken coop and hens  (Tractor Supply)
  • Fairy garden supplies  (Hobby Lobby)

This is so cute. I'd love to have the plans for your coop. Do you know where I can find them, please?

@Missnursekitty Thank you :-) Go to tractor supply website and look under chicken coops. We replaced the latches on this (needed stronger ones) and I painted the outside of it with a good outdoor paint. I also added a stronger wire mesh to the sides and bottom to keep racoons and foxes out. Wayfair also has them. This coop was for 4-6 hens. I kept it at 3 as I don't want them crowded. I added a picture above showing them in the coop. Good luck and have fun!!! I love being a chickie mama :-)

Can you let your chickens out to "free range" around this?

@John Payne I let them out in the yard - they don't go in this area actually... We have a very large yard for them to fly and scratch in ...
