Metallic Paint Effect

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do/get the paint effect on the jar in the attached picture. I was also wondering does it have to be metallic paint? Thanks for your help!

You can get a very similar effect by using a "LOOKING GLASS" paint from hobby lobby or any craft store....then right before it's completely dry...spritz a little vinegar/water mix on the paint. you can dab a paper towel on it to pick up a little more of the paint if desired.

I have read on several blogs that when this was first posted, the directions said to spray inside. But later, it was said to spray on outside, then you can use it as a vase. I have never tried it myself but want to.

I spray both inside and outside. Spraying inside gives a gray matte look, and outside gives a shiny finish.

Have tried both inside and out, depends on the piece your are spraying. Revi gave good info. Also..Wal-mart sells it cheaper then HobLob...unless you use your 40% off coupon @HoLob.
